Todd is the youngest out of Ethan's group. As such, he tries to do things to gain approval from his friends by acting out. While Ethan brought Todd into the group, Carson, has taken him under his wing; so whatever Carson does or agrees with, he follows. Todd in a sense is selfish on that front, as most things he does are for his image than anything else, i.e. if bullying someone else is funny to his friends, he will continue doing it to satisfy them.
